The International Conference on Islamic Humanities was held on May 4, 2025 at the IRIB International Conference Center in Tehran, with the participation of students and distinguished scholars from 11 countries.
Dr. Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) of Iran and Full Professor at the University of Tehran, participated as the guest speaker and described the humanities as a foundational pillar for societal development.

Professor Talal Atrissi, a prominent Lebanese sociologist and intellectual, delivered a keynote lecture entitled “The Crisis of Western Sociology in Light of the Islamic Approach to Social Sciences,” in which he elaborated on the various dimensions of the epistemological and philosophical crisis in Western sociology.
Other Iranian and international speakers addressed the imperative of reorienting the humanities toward Qurʾānic anthropology (Islamic philosophical anthropology), the ineffectiveness of secular sciences, and the centrality of divine knowledge in shaping modes of life and governance.
The conference comprised four specialized panels:
- Islamic Foundations, chaired by Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Hossein Malekzadeh, with contributions from scholars from Turkey and Tunisia on the foundational principles of Islamic humanities and social sciences.
- Law, Economics, and Management, focused on governance and scientific diplomacy, chaired by Ayatollah Abbas Kaʿbi, featuring scholars from Iraq, South Africa, and Tunisia.
- Culture and Education, chaired by Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Parsania, featuring presentations on Islamic culture and educational governance by scholars from Indonesia, Malaysia, Iraq, and Lebanon.
- Politics, addressing unity and scholarly convergence among Islamic countries, with the participation of scholars from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Tunisia, and Jordan.
The event concluded with recognition of the top papers and the presentation of awards to their authors.
