The First Issue of The Journal of Imamiyya Exegesis: A New Approach in Qurʾānic and Tafsīr Studies

The peer-reviewed scholarly journal Imamiyya Exegesis, published by the Quran and Hadith Research Institute, released its inaugural issue in Spring–Summer 2025. The journal aims to open new horizons in Qurʾānic and exegetical studies by providing a platform for theorization, in-depth inquiry, and analysis of emerging topics in the field.

The editor-in-chief of the journal is Mohammad Kazem Rahman Setayesh, with an editorial board consisting of Ali Akbar Babayi, Ali Rad, Seyyed Mohammad Kazem Tabatabaei, Hadi Masoodi, Alireza Qaeminia, and Mohammad Ali Mahdavi Rad.

The first issue contains seven scholarly articles that adopt analytical and comparative approaches to Qurʾānic exegesis and history. The central themes of these contributions include:

  • Identification of the foundations and methodologies of Imamiyya exegesis
  • Historical and comparative analysis of exegetical currents
  • Critical evaluation of existing perspectives
