“Arabic Language and Civilizational Interaction”: Joint Conference of Iranian and Iraqi Universities

The Fifth International Conference on “Arabic Language and Civilizational Interaction” was organized by the Farabi College, University of Tehran, in collaboration with Wasit University and University of Kufa.

This event took place on December 1, 2025, in both in-person and virtual formats, hosted by Wasit University in Iraq.

The primary objective of the conference was to examine the role of the Arabic language in civilizational and cultural discourse, and to analyze its contemporary transformations in scientific and technological contexts. The program provided a platform for scholarly exchange among academics and researchers from various countries.

The thematic areas of the conference encompassed diverse and interdisciplinary topics addressing the role of Arabic in civilizational, cultural, and technological domains. These included:

  • The perspective of resistance in literature and intellectual traditions, with emphasis on civilizational foundations and origins
  • The status of Arabic language and its civilizational legacy in legal documents and transformations
  • Translation, lexicography, techniques, and electronic technologies related to the Arabic language
  • The civilizational heritage of Arabic in the fields of management and engineering
  • Narrative, storytelling, and civilizational multi-referentiality in Arabic

Accepted papers were presented in four languages: Arabic, Persian, English, and French.
