Iran–Indonesia Academic Cooperation Agreement Signed in Qom

A scientific and cultural cooperation agreement was signed in October 2025 in Qom between Iran’s Research Institute of Hawzah and University and Indonesia’s Center for Islamic Culture. The agreement was concluded by Mohammad-Baqer Saʿidi Roshan, President of the Research Institute, and Mohammad Sharifani, President of the Indonesian Center for Islamic Culture.

The agreement aims to leverage shared capacities and to expand scientific and cultural cooperation. According to its provisions, the two institutions agreed to collaborate in the following areas:

  • Designing and implementing joint research projects
  • Authoring and translating scholarly works
  • Publishing books in multiple languages
  • Recruiting non-Iranian students for graduate-level studies in Iran

Additional areas of cooperation include:

  • Developing academic curricula and course syllabi
  • Organizing joint training courses
  • Providing research services, including academic consultation

The agreement also provides for the expansion of cooperation through the addition of new programs by mutual consent. Both institutions committed to respecting intellectual property rights in joint scholarly works and to fully acknowledging the partner institution by its complete official name in all collaborative projects and publications.
