On the occasion of the centenary of the re-establishment of the Qom Seminary, the Scientific Department of the Seminary of South Khorasan Province has issued its first call for papers under the theme “The Role of the Shiʿa Clergy in the Growth and Advancement of Humanity.”
The call seeks to re-examine the civilizational, epistemic, and historical dimensions of Shiʿa clerical leadership and to analyze its strategic role in enhancing the spiritual and intellectual capacities of Islamic societies and humanity at large.
Research themes of the call include:
- Religious authority (marjaʿiyyat) and the management of historical crises in Shiʿism
- The role of the clergy in the development and renewal of the Islamic humanities from a civilization-oriented approach
- The historical role of the clergy in safeguarding religious identity
- Leadership in popular movements
- Participation in scientific and cultural progress
- The propagational and civilizational mission of the clergy in light of the message of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran
