The book Fiqh wa Amniyyat: Amniyyat-pazhūhī dar Turāth-i Fiqh-i Shīʿa (Jurisprudence and Security: Security Studies in the Shiʿa Jurisprudential Tradition), authored in Persian by Mohammad Esmaeil Nabatian, has been published by the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy Press in 515 pages. The work seeks to extract and analyze jurisprudential propositions related to security through a citation-based deductive approach, examining how the concept of security is addressed across various topics of Shīʿa jurisprudence, and laying the foundation for the formation of a distinct “Jurisprudence of Security.”
The book is structured into ten chapters, addressing dimensions such as individual, familial, social, military, political, cultural, economic, environmental, and judicial security on the basis of jurisprudential sources. By monitoring the opinions of Shīʿa jurists, Nabatian identifies both the factors threatening security and the elements that strengthen it within society. This study ultimately seeks to provide a methodical framework for theoretical and practical inquiry into security by drawing on the resources of Islamic jurisprudence.
