Mohammad Hossein Bahrami, Head of the Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences (CRCIS, also often called the Noor Research Center), announced the pioneering implementation of deep-search artificial intelligence within the intelligent “Chat with Book” system (listed on the English site as the “Artificial Intelligence” feature) on February 14, 2026. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony during the Seminary Book of the Year Conference, he detailed the center’s latest achievements, stating: “By enabling the analysis of over 138,000 volumes, this system provides researchers in Islamic studies with more accurate, comprehensive, and well-documented responses.”

Delivering his address at the 27th Seminary Book of the Year Conference held at the Imam Kadhim (AS) Islamic Seminary in Qom, he added: “This system is essentially a new generation of intelligent search engines, representing a significant milestone in the transformation of religious research driven by modern technologies.”

The seminary and university professor highlighted the integration of “deep-search artificial intelligence” within the platform, noting: “For the first time, it is possible to simultaneously examine the full text of all books available in the Noor Digital Library (Noorlib)—encompassing more than 138,000 volumes. Through a multi-stage filtration and evaluation of responses, the system delivers the most optimal and relevant content to the user.”

The Head of the Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences further explained: “In the ‘Chat with Book’ system, the user interacts with a massive corpus of academic and religious texts. The new intelligent engine, through deep analysis, precise categorization, and the provision of intricate details, facilitates more elaborate and substantiated answers compared to its predecessors.”

Emphasizing the ever-growing need of researchers for smart tools, Bahrami clarified: “Not only does this system offer more precise answers, but by displaying full sources and citations, it also lays the groundwork for researchers to directly examine the original texts and pursue further academic inquiry.”

In conclusion, he characterized “Chat with Book” as a successful paradigm of the profound intersection between Islamic studies and modern technologies, asserting: “The new generation of this intelligent conversational engine will render the trajectory of Quranic, Hadith, and jurisprudential research faster, more accurate, and highly systematic.”

Proceeding to outline the key features and capabilities of the intelligent “Chat with Book” system, the Head of the Noor Center listed the following distinguished attributes:

  • Referencing over 138,000 volumes in the field of Islamic studies.
  • A multilingual user interface (Persian, Arabic, and English).
  • The ability to pose questions in various languages and receive answers in the user’s language of choice.
  • Deep analysis, comprehensive categorization, and the provision of precise details regarding the requested subject.
  • Provision of citations and sources with the capability of direct linkage to the original source page.
  • Display of a complete list of sources utilized in the generated responses.
  • The option to narrow down searches based on a specific book, author, century, or religious denomination directly within the query text.
  • Retention of chat history and the ability to seamlessly continue inquiries within an online conversational format.

It is noteworthy that this intelligent system was unveiled in the presence of Ayatollah Sayyid Hashem Hosseini Bushehri, Head of the Qom Seminary Scholar’s Community, and Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Director of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, on the sidelines of the 27th Seminary Book of the Year Conference.
