The Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy has published the research work Political Hadiths of Al-Kafi, authored in Persian by Abolfazl Soltan Mohammadi, in a two-volume set (totaling 988 pages). This work is the result of the systematic enumeration and compilation of narrations bearing political themes and implications from the seminal book Al-Kafi, authored by Thiqat al-Islam Muhammad ibn Ya’qub al-Kulayni (RH).
The significance of this work lies in the fact that Al-Kafi—serving as the foremost and most comprehensive source among the primary Shia hadith collections, and chronologically preceding the other three of the Four Books (al-Kutub al-Arba’ah)—holds a unique position in the comprehension of Imami thought. Comprising over fifteen thousand narrations across various theological, jurisprudential, and ethical chapters, this book is widely regarded as a foundational source for Islamic studies.
The compilation of the Political Hadiths of Al-Kafi collection, achieved through the extraction and specialized categorization of narrations related to the domains of politics, governance, social justice, and international relations, significantly facilitates access for researchers of Islamic and Shia political thought to this segment of the hadith heritage within one of its most authentic sources. Consequently, it paves the way for structured and comprehensive analyses in this field.
