The twentieth volume of the monumental “Encyclopedia of the Holy Quran” (Dāʾirat al-Maʿārif-i Qurʾān-i Karīm)—widely recognized as the most comprehensive Quranic encyclopedia in the Islamic world—has been compiled by the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy and published by the Bustan-e Ketab Institute in 632 pages.
The compilation project of the “Encyclopedia of the Holy Quran,” which stands as one of the largest ongoing Quranic projects in Iran, spans over two decades. This scholarly work is compiled in Persian, strictly adhering to the scientific and academic standards of encyclopedic writing and organized in alphabetical order.
The twentieth volume of this collection encompasses 102 primary and cross-reference entries, commencing with the letter “ʿAyn” (ع) with the entry ʿAmal-i Sālih (Righteous Deed) and concluding with the letter “Fāʾ” (ف) with the entry Fath (Conquest). Among the prominent entries in this volume are ʿĪsā (Jesus) (PBUH), Ghadir, Ghazwa (Military Expedition), Ghayba (Occultation), Fatima (SA), and Fath (Conquest).
It is worth noting that upon completion, this encyclopedia will ultimately cover approximately 3,000 subjects across various disciplines, including Islamic teachings, conceptual studies, Quranic proper names (Aʿlām), philosophy, Islamic theology (Kalām), jurisprudence (Fiqh), law, history, and mysticism (ʿIrfān).
