The Persian book “Economic Fortification and the Resistance Economy: Theoretical Foundations and Practical Issues”, authored by Dr. Allah-Morad Seif, has been published by Imam Hossein Comprehensive University Press.
This research work provides a fundamental diagnostic analysis of the structural vulnerabilities within Iran’s economy and elucidates the theoretical and applied frameworks of economic resilience and fortification. In assessing the country’s macroeconomic management, the author identifies the absence of a strategic thinking paradigm—one that aligns with indigenous requirements and capacities—as the primary challenge. By bridging academic theory with policy, Dr. Seif offers a comprehensive framework for understanding the Resistance Economy in the context of national resilience.
By critiquing short-term protectionist approaches, the book demonstrates how the expansion of state interventionism and government dominance over the economy, coupled with a deepening reliance on oil revenues, has culminated in the phenomenon of “justice without efficiency.” Although this approach was initially adopted with the motive of equitable distribution, in practice, it has undermined the ultimate goal of economic justice by eroding the foundations of long-term growth and squandering resources for transient gains.
